Health Education England:

Supporting Allied Health Professionals

Summary

Overview of case study

This video animation was designed to promote the Knowledge and Library Services (KLS) to Allied Health Professionals (AHP’s). The video was developed with the objective of appealing to all AHP’s, across the spectrum of 14 associated professions. In addition, the client wanted to demonstrate how the Knowledge and Library Services can add value throughout the various careers associated with those professions.

Step 1

What was the objective?

Health Education England wanted to produce a video animation that would implement the suite of existing animations that Nice Media have developed to promote the Knowledge and Library Services. This new animation would be aimed at Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) and its purpose will be to explain the role that Knowledge and Library Services can plan in their career journey. This meant that the video needed to communicate the features and benefits of the KLS in a way that connects across this spectrum of roles.

Step 2

What solution did we offer?

We set out to produce an animation that was similar in style and tone to other projects that Nice and HEE have collaborated on. A key requirement was that the content needed to be clear and accessible to all levels of seniority within the various professions/services. The process will begin with a script / content workshop. This will be attended by the Director / Script Writer and Producer from Nice Media and key stakeholders from HEE. The purpose of the workshop was to finalise the key messages/learning points, discuss visual concepts and decide on voiceover requirements. This process was followed by script development, storyboard/animatic design, asset design, animation, voiceover production, sound mix and sound fx.

Step 3

What was the outcome?

The final video is called: ‘How NHS Knowledge and Library Services can support AHPs’. It’s just over two minutes long and is available on YouTube for easy access for people across the allied Health Professionals to get a quick and easy understanding of how they can benefit from the service. There were more than 170,000 AHPs in the UK, across the 14 core roles when this video was created.
