Canon UK is a leading provider of digital cameras, digital SLR cameras, inkjet printers & professional printers for business and home users.

What was the objective?

Canon needed a bright idea to communicate important messages about IT security to their staff in a memorable way that caused a stir.

What solution did we offer?

We worked closely with Canon to develop a concept together- coming up with the theme of a floating head comedy character. The production presented some interesting technical challenges as all of the characters were played by a single actor who often had to “talk to himself”! This heightened, comedic approach allowed us to present some of the more abstract ideas of IT security with a human face.

What was the outcome?

The videos formed a yearlong ‘viral’ campaign to Canon staff around the world, deployed in multiple language versions. The iconic nature of the design also lent itself well to incorporation of the character into a series of posters to accompany the videos which were refreshed each month along with the videos.
